Private Lessons
Whether you’re a child or an adult, individual instruction is the most effective way to make significant progress in musical skills. Following an a conversation with the school registrar, or school director, students are matched with an appropriate teacher who tailors instruction to best fit each student’s needs and goals. Private lessons are offered for children and adults from beginning to advanced levels in piano (classical and jazz), violin, viola, cello, double bass, guitar, jazz improvization, and voice.
Suzuki instruction is available for both violin and cello.
To arrange for private lesson instruction, please contact The Concord Conservatory of Music office at 978-369-0010, or email info@ConcordConservatory.org. The school director will discuss the student's needs and arrange for you to speak with an instructor directly.
Private instruction provides a great opportunity to learn to play an instrument or to continue building on existing knowledge and skill levels. Lessons are taught one-on-one, and are tailored to the individual student's needs and ability. This may be the only opportunity where the student has individual attention of a teacher. Over time, private music education develops patience, commitment, perseverance, logical thinking, goal-setting, time management, that lead to increased confidence and self-esteem.

Suzuki Instruction
The Concord Conservatory of Music also offers Suzuki training in violin and cello for students ages 4 and up with teachers who have been specially trained the in Suzuki Method.
A comprehensive program of study based on Dr. Shinichi Suzuki’s philosophy that all children are born with a high potential for learning, and given the opportunity and a structured, encouraging environment, any child can learn to play an instrument. Students in the Suzuki program learn to make music using the “mother-tongue” approach--the same way they learn to speak--by listening and imitating. Children learn at their own pace and this philosophy includes the belief that talent is not inherent, but nurtured by a child's environment.
The teacher and parent have equally important roles in the success of each child’s experience with the Suzuki method. By attending all lessons, supervising daily listening, and practicing with the student, the parent is an active participant in the learning process. The teacher, student, and parent form an all-important “triangle” of learning to support the child’s musical growth.
Individual instruction is provided in 30, 45, and 60 minute sessions and is supplemented by a weekly, 45 minute Repertoire group class. CCM welcomes and encourages parents of prospective students to observe lessons and group classes before enrolling in the program. |
