The Group Keyboard curriculum (ages 5 – 7) is a comprehensive music program offering a fun and unique approach to learning music. Small classes of four move together as a group and cover basic reading and rhythm skills along with solo and ensemble playing. Similar to private lessons, students progress through a beginning keyboard book over the course of the year. However, children who would prefer the varied activities a group can provide can flourish in a small group class setting. Concepts are reinforced through creative rhythm and ear-training games, duets and group improvisation, as well as movement exercises. A piano or keyboard is required for home practice.

Classes are age and ability appropriate. This is a good course for the student who thrives in a group setting. Most students continue on to private instruction. Parental participation is NOT necessary in this new class.

Designed as a two-year course, classes encourage development of both the individual's and the group's musical skills. Class time activities cover many aspects of musicianship and keyboard skills. Children develop a solid musical foundation, regardless of future instrument choice.

CCM provides keyboards for the group lessons: however, students must have a piano or keyboard at home to practice. Parent/Caregiver participation at lessons is NOT required. Please note that full year enrollment is required.
